Every year we spend the Sunday evening before Mardi Gras at the Metairie Parades together. This year we will wear our green Hope Church shirts and focus our attention on conversations around the port-a-potties!
YUCK!! you might say…
Hope Church is all about serving the practical needs of our City so we can build relationships and share about Jesus and Hope Church.
If you have been to Mardi Gras in Metairie you know the closer the parade gets the longer the line of people at the Port-A-Pottie. There is nothing grosser than using one… and worse, not having an option to wash hands.
In groups of 2 or 3 we will set lawn chairs close by. As people exit we will offer them some hand sanitizer. It’s that simple.
Each group will also have several trash bags. A couple of times throughout the evening (when port-a-pottie traffic is low) we will walk around and pick up trash. We will also do so for 20 minutes after the parade has gone by.
It’s a great time for Hope Church to gain some exposure in the community and to get to know some people in our community. Be ready to answer a question or two about our church!
Hope to see you guys out at Napoleon. Meeting at Toys-R-Us at 4:15 pm. Call me if u r coming late so I can tell you where we are on the route. Wear green shirts! I have some extras with me if u need one.
